Farnham Castle Weddings - We are very proud to work with and be recommended suppliers of wedding cakes to the wonderful Farnham Castle with the Galloping Gourmet team.
Last night we showcased our 2015/2016 collection at a tasting Event. The castle looked beautiful. Dressed for a wedding and with around 90 excited guests who are planning their weddings at Farnham Castle for next year, the venue was positively buzzing.
The images in this blogpost were taken by Jacques Lloyd - Real Simple Photography (Husband and wife wedding photography team based near Petersfield, Hampshire UK, they shoot weddings across Hampshire, Surrey and further afield)
Watching the Galloping Gourmet team at work was amazing and everything ran like clockwork, Fabulous team work was the key and was appreciated by all the guests. The food was incredibly delicious and looked beautiful.

August 2014 was a special year full of bespoke wedding cake designs and super lovely clients to work with. One of my favourites was the lovely Jill. Jill met me at a wedding event at the Oakley Hall Hotel in Hampshire whwere we are proud to be their recommended wedding cake supplier. Jill really wanted to make a wedding cake for her daughter but needed a fair bit of guidance and trainging.. and that's where our journey together began!.
I worked with Jill throught the process. First teaching her how to cook some lovely sponges (Sharing my recipes and methods). Jill loved it so much that when I next saw her she had a freezer full of cake and a very happy and well fed family :)
We also had lessons together to teach Jill to level and fill her cakes, then ganache and cover in beautifully smooth fondant icing.
For the decoration I taught Jill how to make a number of sugarflowers, including, Roses, Peonies and Hydrangea along with ruffle techniques and cameo designs.
In April this year we had the pleasure of working with the very lovely Bhavisha and Dipesh at their wedding at the Stunning Froyle Park in Hampshire. Set in 80 acres, Froyle Park is one of Hampshire's finest country estates, with a rich history dating back to the early 1600s. Its layout and stunning features make it the perfect venue for your luxury wedding!. During the planning we discussed colours and textures with our couple and designed an opulent style wedding cake with vertical ruffle detail, a brushed gold tier, elegant lace icing and some delicate sugar flowers. What a fantastic wedding day - the venue looked amazing. The suppliers had outshone themselves and transformed Bhavisha anDipesh's dreams into a day they will remember forever.
Here are a few of our favourite shots. Its great to see them enjoying our cake. And look how amazing they both look too!!.

Yesterday we had the great pleasure of contributing to a photoshoot arranged by the lovely Petra Opperman Weddings. This week we delivered a beautiful hanging wedding cake to the stunning Beaumont Estate in old windsor. The story started when we met the lovely Leanne and her mum at the Windsor Racecourse Wedding Fayre. Leanne was blown away by our cake - a wedding cake suspended by chain from a bespoke scrolled design stand. She wanted to add her own twist to the design and opted for a very stylish white and pearly silver design with a splash of black.
We loved creating this. It stands over a meter tall. has large sugar roses, buds and filler flowers, pretty cameo's, lace work and intricate pattern work.
The venue looked amazing! Decorated in a stylish black and white theme it was the perfect setting.

So.. Why cakes?
Ever since I can remember, I have always been into arts and crafts. I trained in Graphic design, I do silk paintings in my (rare) spare time and used to dabble in logo and web design too. I guess the cakes were a natural progression really as I view what I do as “Cake Art” I love the thought of changing an everyday item like a cake into a piece of art. There is also nothing better than feeling a part of making someone’s special day memorable and seeing the look on their face when they first see the cake. Cake making is in the blood to as my lovely Nan – “Nanny Jean” has also made wedding cakes for many years and has been a real inspiration to me.
How did we choose the name - Gifted Heart Cakes?
I believe a gift should always come from th...
