All Cakes made by Gifted Heart Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions. Please take a look through. If you have any questions please check out our F.A.Q's page or call us and we will be happy to discuss.
All our ingredients are of the highest quality.
Sponge, flavoured and chocolate cakes, are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration. The cakes are made in premises in which nuts are used, every effort is taken to keep ingredients separate however cakes may contain traces of nuts or nut oil.
Notice for Orders
We prefer at least three months notice on wedding cakes however we will accept short notice cakes subject to the availability of the date required.
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced by Gifted Heart Cakes as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo. We prefer to tailor your cake to your wedding by creating original ideas for you.
Payments and Orders
We require a booking fee on placement of order for all cakes, which is deducted from the final balance payable. Booking fees are non refundable. No order is confirmed until Gifted Heart Cakes receives the customer's signed order form and the booking payment shown on the form is received and cleared.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS – CAKE ORDERS
Booking Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to any loss of business arising from turning away other bookings on that date.
For novelty cakes, the balance of payment is due upon collection/delivery. For wedding cakes the balance is due the first of the month before your wedding (eg, if you are getting married during the month of June then your invoice will be due 1st May). If the balance has not been received and cleared by this date, then the order will be deemed cancelled and any deposit paid (other than hire deposits) will be non-refundable.
Changes / cancellations
We always make great efforts to be as flexible as possible for you. Please note however, that no changes can be accepted within one month of the collection/delivery date as equipment/ingredients and other essential items will have been purchased.
Reservation payments are non-refundable, except in the highly unlikely event that the order has to be cancelled by Gifted Heart Cakes. If this were to happen, the customer would be notified at the earliest possible opportunity and any monies paid (including date reservation payments) will be returned in full, regardless whether of any work has already been carried out or not. If desired, every effort will also be made to find an alternative cake maker who could complete the order should this happen. Full payment of cake balance is required if the customer cancels within 1 month of the wedding date, 75% of cake balance is required if cancellation is within three to one months of the wedding date as we are unlikely to be able to book another wedding cake in such a short period of time.
Cake shelf life & storage instructions
Sponge cakes are best eaten within four days of collection/delivery. Fruit/carrot cakes are best eaten within 10 days of collection/delivery once cut, but may be kept uncut for up to 21 days. (Fruit cake may also be frozen) Any cake not eaten immediately should be stored in a cool dry place to maintain freshness (and once cut, in an airtight container). Cakes of any type should NOT be refrigerated. No responsibility can be accepted by Gifted Heart Cakes for deterioration of any cake not treated in accordance with the above instructions.
Cakes will be delivered and set up subject to availability; any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change, however prior notice will be given where possible.
Cakes are to be collected from our premises at a prearranged time and date only.
From time to time our designs are published in wedding cake magazines and other publications, we reserve the right to use any image of a cake made by Gifted Heart Cakes for publication at a later date.
Return of Hired Equipment
All hired equipment must be returned within three days of the wedding date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to wedding) or extra charges may be levied to cover further hire costs.
Any costs to repair or replace damage to hired equipment or missing items will deducted from deposits paid or invoiced if the value is greater than the deposit.
