Wedding Cake for Horse Lovers - Rhinefield House Hotel New Forest
January 1, 2016
Emma and Mareks lovely horse themed wedding cake.
27th April 2014 was the date that Emma and Marek tied the knot. They origionally contacted me and asked for a fairly simple and plain cake. Most people that know me know I dont often do simple and plain. But I listened to what they wanted and came up with a lovely design and that was that. all booked in and ready to go.. HOWEVER.. Emma had been following my work on facebook and contacted me to say that it would be a crime not to use my talents, blow the plain original design and can we come up with a fab new more detailed design that reflected their personalities and interests. Naturally I was thrilled to be given this challenge. At our pre wedding consultation at Rhinefield House in the New Forest we sat together for a while talking about Emma and Marek, the wedding, themes, likes and dislikes, allsorts. As our delicious Latte's were going down (Very nicely) our ideas were on the up. By the end of the meeting we had decided upon my signature flower cascade but with a twist. Monochrome apart from delicate flashes of teal. Pretty orchids and other flowers to match the bridal bouquet and the pièce de résistance a beautiful horse head topper which we had hand crafted and coloured to match the wedding colourscheme.
We love getting to know our couples and I knew they wanted a big cake, a real statement. So as a suprise we added a fourth tier to the original design to add more height. We used a fake dummy tier so that Emma and Marek would be able to keep their lovely horses on top rather than just being pulled out of the cake and potentially getting lost or damaged. They were delighted! I recently receieved a lovely picture from Emma of how they have kept their topper
Its such a rewarding feeling knowing you have made someones day so special. We loved these horse head toppers and are so glad they will be preserved for years to come. Sending our love and hugs out to Emma and Marek. Very special customers who we are now lucky enough to call friends x
